or give early enough warning in as many as 35% of all fires..

WHERE SMOKE DETECTORS SHOULD NOT BE OUT UP.
....In or near areas where combustion
particles are present.(combustion particles are the by products of something thats burning. Areas to avoid are kitchens, with few windows or poor ventilation, garages where there may be vehicle
exhaust, near furnaces, hot water heaters and space heaters. Put up smoke detectors at least 20 feet away from areas where combustion particles are normally present like kitchens.*********
